Unibap receives follow-up order from SweTree Technologies AB regarding pilot installation for automatic sorting and quality control

SweTree Technologies AB places a follow-up order on Unibap regarding system optimization and pilot installation of automatic sorting and quality inspection of somatic embryos for the forest industry. The order is a continuation of previously completed design and construction work according to a press release in November 2019, which was completed in spring 2020. The order value is approximately 1 900 000 SEK and delivery will be made in 2020.

The automation solution to be delivered includes the design of a complete pilot production cell based on Unibap's skill modules for robotic sorting and quality control for automated, high volume production and on SweTree's special competence on somatic embryos. The order also includes optimizing the system in terms of precision and cycle time. SweTree Technologies AB intends to commission the pilot plant in 2021 and use the results to decide on an investment for a full-scale commercial plant for 20 million spruce plants per year.

SweTree Technologies AB is a development and innovation company in forest biotechnology owned by Stora Enso, Kempestiftelserna, Sveaskog, RuAsset, Holmen and the holding company Woodheads AB with researchers from Sweden's Agricultural University (SLU), Umeå University, Uppsala University, Stockholm University and Royal Swedish University. KTH).
